Position Overview
The Business/Financial Systems Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions by analyzing, developing, and improving financial and business systems. This position is responsible for supporting financial operations, optimizing systems, ensuring data accuracy, and providing actionable insights to improve business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial processes, excellent analytical skills, and a deep familiarity with business systems and software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Analysis & Design:
- Work closely with business stakeholders (finance, accounting, and operations teams) to understand their financial processes, requirements, and goals.
- Analyze current business systems, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements or new solutions to meet evolving needs.
- Document business requirements and technical specifications for system enhancements or new implementations.
- Design, configure, and test system modifications or customizations to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business goals.
- Financial System Management:
- Support and maintain Enterprise Resource Planning system and reporting tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to financial processes.
- Implement system upgrades and patches, ensuring compatibility with current business requirements.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end users, ensuring they are proficient in using financial systems and software tools.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics tools to provide business stakeholders with real-time financial insights.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for cost savings or operational efficiency.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by providing systems-related insights and data.
- Process Improvement & Automation:
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial and business processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Leverage automation tools and technologies to streamline manual processes and reduce the risk of errors.
- Recommend best practices in financial systems to ensure compliance, transparency, and accountability.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with business teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for system upgrades or implementations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution, adhering to budget and resource constraints.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and documentation for system development, testing, and deployment.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between business users and technology providers to ensure clear and accurate communication of requirements, expectations, and progress.
- Provide regular status updates to management on system issues, improvement initiatives, and project milestones.
- Assist in change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new or updated systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field. A master’s degree or certifications in financial systems or business analysis (e.g., CFA, CPA, or CBAP) is a plus.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in business systems analysis, financial systems management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of financial operations, accounting principles, and business processes.
- Experience working with financial software and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, Tableau, etc.).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical details into understandable terms for business users.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Working Environment:
- Full-time position on-site in either Omaha, NE or White Deer, TX
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings or system implementations.
